July

It's now July, which is a busy month for us every year, with the 4th of July,BBQs, and softball we are always going, going, going!!
I love this shot of the city....looks beautiful!

On the 3rd of July we went down by my mom's friends house to watch the Big Bang, they have such a great view from their house. So we had a BBQ, the girls put on a little performance, and we watched the fireworks. They were great, long and it lite up the city.

The next day obviously was the 4th of July.....busy day for us since there is so much to do in our area. Our day started with going and picking up our neice, Lily, then taking her and Donovan to the annual parade in Hales Corners, it can't be 4th of July without attending the HC parade! The kids had so much fun, got some candy, listened to some bands and overall it was the perfect weather to suite the perfect day.

After the parade we headed over to a friend's house for a BBQ, some fireworks and some drinks. Dono had so much fun just running around, playing with sparklers and watching the fireworks. I love the 4th I mean what's more fun than just hanging out with friends, great food and drink, great company, great weather......ideal day!

A couple of days after the fourth, Erik went to a bachelor party, while Dono and I lounged at home, watched movies, ate popcorn and just had a mommy and me time. We watched High School Musical 1, 2 and 3. Never in my life did I want to watch those movies but I admit I LOVE musicals. Newsies and West Side Story are my absolute favorite, neways we watched them, they were adorable and now I understand what my neice talks about, refering to the movie. Zac Efron def is a cutie that's for sure, ah the joys of being your again, wait he's like my age.....hmmmm. I also gave Donovan this huge balloon, it was green, his favorite color and literally it didn't leave his hands the whole night. He had a blast playing with it!!!!

The weekend after, I had my neice over to play with Dono, sometimes dealing with 2 kids can be a little much esp when the tattle tailing comes into play but every kid goes through it. You just have to figure out what you think would be something fun for a kid to do, so we made noodle necklaces, some with flowers....they had so much FUN for about 30 minutes BUT it was a 30 minutes worth while to see those smiles!

After we made necklaces we went to Target and bought a pool...it was such a beautiful day so I wanted the kids to just have fun. Took the pool over to my mom's house, blew it up and let the kids go crazy. They were in that pool alllllll day long. That's the most rewarding part about being a mom and aunt :) seeing those smiling faces and hearing those cute laughs.....it's the little things in life that I cherish the most. My brother having cancer has made me realize you don't know how much longer you have on this earth, live everyday as you last with no regrets.

So Dono had started t-ball in June, his grandma Jill signed him up and she would take him to his "games" on Tuesdays and Thursdays, he LOVED t-ball. So the week of the 20th I took those days off to go and watch him, not having seen him play all summer and this was his last week. On Tuesday we took some team pictures at the end of his game and then on Thursday my brother came with to see him play since he was out of school by then. Donovan was so excited his uncle was there and daddy came to watch too as well as Erik's grandma and grandpa, needless to say Dono had some fans to see him play. What they do is seperate the kids into two groups, have one group in the field catching and the other group is up to bat, while Coach Mary is pitching and her assistants are either out in the field or helping the kids bat, helping them figure out how to hold this massive bat they usually used.

After his last game, we decided to go to my brother's house and go swimming and see his new puppy! Adorable little thing!!! My dad came over too, Dono was in the water for probably 15 minutes, it was a little chilly, the water. But it was a nice relaxing day. So we played with the dog, did a little swimming, had some lunch and then the boys did a little skateboarding....Dono's new favorite activity when he's around his uncle.

That weekend we went to a friend's wedding, holy shit, beautiful beautiful beautiful. It was held at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The food was fantastic, the drinks were great, the weather was perfect. At one point we were sitting outside and fireworks started going off, it was just perfect. I only remembered to take 2 pictures of the whole night.

That's it for July!
